Tathiana Garbin has revealed how she and her team expected the Italian tennis player to retire
Camila Giorgi’s controversial retirement has split the opinion of fans and insiders, both for the manner in which it occurred and for the harsh criticism relating to the alleged tax fraud carried out by the Italian woman. In an interview with Eurosport, the captain of the Italian Billie Jean King Cup team Tathiana Garbin talked out about the retirement of her player, as well as expressing some other interesting considerations on Italian players.
“I can’t deny that it was somewhat expected. For some time Camila had been saying that she was tired and wanted to change her life. I’m sorry I didn’t hear from her on this occasion. She chose to give the ‘goodbye in this way, but sometimes it takes time to metabolize a choice like this and everyone is free to manage it as they see fit,” said Garbin about Giorgi’s retirement.
Tathiana also focused on Jannik Sinner, one of the many who made her feel his support during her battle against a rare tumor.

“Jasmine is full of energy and with a lot of desire, this could have helped Sara’s second youth. While I am sure that you are helping Paolini a lot from the point of view of tennis, of strategy, because Sara is incredible in that. They feel good and the results are visible.
