The South African joined legends Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player in calling for the sport to be reunited after the league exit. Tiger Woods met Newcastle president and PIF governor Yassir Al-Rumayya in the Bahamas last month as part of talks.
And LIV boss Greg Norman is at the Masters this week to support his players. No deal has yet been made on how LIV Golf will fit into the new calendar with the PGA Tour and how lucky the stars who weren’t injured will be.
Jon Rahm signed a $600 million deal in December, but other players have made huge dollars pay days Norman admitted that Woods was offered between $700 million and $800 million.
The nine-time winner, now 88, said: “It’s very simple. Any business, not just golf, is confrontational, it’s sick. We have to come together and find a solution. If you can’t, it’s no good.

But it’s a big problem because they paid all these guys to join the LIV Tour property, I mean we don’t understand and the loyal players, the three of us and others. Now these guys come back to play, I really believe the players, if they are loyal, they should be compensated one way or another; Otherwise, there will be disagreements.”
Thirteen LIV players will face each other in the Masters, the first since the Open met the PGA Tour stars last July. Nicklaus, an 18-time Major winner, also added in the press conference of the opening ceremony of Masters: “The best result is when the best players play against each other all the time.
“That’s what I think . I don’t know how it goes. I don’t want to be aware of it. I was talking to Jay a while ago and I said, “Jay,” I said. “Don’t tell me what’s going on because I don’t want to lie to the press and people who ask me.“
I asked, “How are you?” He said, “We’re fine.“ I said, “Okay, that’s all I want to know.“ If Jay thinks we’re going to do well, we’re going to get there, I think we will. And I really hope that happens, the sooner the better.”
