He finished at 17 under par, four shots ahead of Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel. This marks Niemann’s second triumph out of three events this year for LIV Golf; he won Mayakoba to begin the season as well.
His remarkable performance earned him $4 million from a total purse worth $20 million held at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Jeddah.
One of the three invitations to next week’s Masters was awarded to Niemann just last week.
Niemann expressed, “The feeling is incredible. This moment holds a significant value for me. Winning always brings joy but I am even more content and proud of my current gameplay as well as how I performed today despite the challenging weather conditions.
Although many competitors achieved low scores, I was aware of that beforehand so winning makes me super ecstatic! Overall, it’s satisfying to know how much progress I have made in my game lately, and now onto the next one.”
