During the concluding phase of the NBA season, teams are actively engaging in buyout market activity to bolster their roster for playoff advancement and secure deals with potential future players.

The cutoff point for a player’s contract buyout to still render them eligible for the playoffs is drawing near. By Mar. 1, an individual must be waived in order to retain their playoff participation rights. It should be noted that finding a new team before the deadline is not mandatory.

Mike Muscala is garnering attention from several contenders this season as per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The player is currently in the final stages of a buyout arrangement with Detroit Pistons.

After joining the Boston Celtics at the trade deadline from Oklahoma City Thunder, the center who stood six-foot-ten primarily remained on the bench for most of his time.

Subsequently, he was incorporated in the trade to obtain Kristaps Porzingis and dispatched to the Washington Wizards.

However, he later got redirected alongside Danilo Gallinari (who has joined the Milwaukee Bucks) to Motor City.

In 13 games played for the Pistons, with four of them as starts, Muscala had an average of 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game while successfully sinking in 38.2 percent out of his attempted total of 2.6 three-point shots taken during that period.

Muscala is eligible to rejoin the C’s as he played for another team after being traded by the Celtics to the Wizards, despite originally hailing from Minnesota.

A return seems unlikely at the moment due to Xavier Tillman being added by Boston during the deadline and Luke Kornet’s growth, despite having played only a few times for them in the previous season.

Despite winning in an unusual manner with a 117-99 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers, the NBA’s leading team with a record of 46-12 has one vacant spot on its roster.
