If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That seems to be the motto of the world’s number one golfer.
Scheffler had a historic year, solidifying his title as the best golfer in the world.
Scotty Scheffler appeared on the GOLF podcast “Subpar” and hinted at what will be served at the Masters Champions Dinner next April, the second in three years.
Those attending the final dinner of 2023 should be familiar with the menu. “I’m wondering if I should just have the exact same menu,” Scheffler said It was pretty good; it’s all my favorite foods.
I don’t know really what I could do differently. I think it would be fun to eat the same thing. »
The exact same food would be cheeseburger sliders served Scotty’s style, firecracker shrimp, tortilla soup, Texas ribeye or blackened sea bass, and a warm skillet cookie with chocolate chips and ice cream.
An exquisite meal. If Scheffler were to repeat the exact same routine, he would be following in the footsteps of the only other person to have done so: the greatest golfer of our time, and possibly of all time.
Tiger Wood, the five-time Masters champion. Woods submitted the same dinner twice since the 2002 menu, in 2003. It was composed of porter steaks, chicken and fields.
The style of the cheffler and his scotty is unusual when the menu is repeated. It would be fitting that Scheffler finds himself doing something that only Woods has ever done, given the sheer margin Scheffler had. His play and utter dominance are reminiscent of the Woods era.
Scheffler won the 2022 Masters, his first major, and followed that up by winning it again this year, now winning the illustrious tournament twice in three years.
He also won a total of seven PGA tour titles, including four brand events, and became the first player to keep his player championship title.
Don’t wear too much. Add to that an Olympic gold medal in Paris and a first FedExCup victory, and you have all the makings of the best player in the world.
And right now, it’s not close
Scheffler is playing the best golf of his career right now and will look to keep that momentum going next year. And for Champions Dinner attendees, the “Scotty Style” cheeseburger will return to the menu.
