Buffalo will send next year’s third-round draft pick and a seventh-round pick in 2026 to Cleveland.
The Buffalo Bills bolstered quarterback Josh Allen’s receiving corps on Tuesday by agreeing to a trade for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper.
The Bills agreed to send next year’s third-round pick and a seventh-round pick in 2026 to the Browns in exchange for Cooper, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, and a sixth-round pick in 2025.
The Bills confirmed the trade on Tuesday afternoon. The steps occurred on Monday in the evening of Eastrazazee, New Jersey on Monday, the day after the Bills broke New York Jets by 23-20 and improved 4-2. When they are looking for their fifth title continuously, they are east of AFC.
They haven’t yet broken through and brought the franchise back to the Super Bowl during their hot streak, but adding Cooper could improve the Bills’ chances of doing so this season.
They’ve taken a “spread the wealth” offensive approach this season after trading four-time Pro Bowl receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans in April. Allen is the fifth passers -by NFL and is the best candidate in MVP.
This season, the Cooper has 24 catching 250 yards and two landings. He had 691 receptions for 9,736 yards and 62 touchdowns during his 10-year NFL career for the Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys and Browns.
The trade could reflect lowered expectations for the Browns, who have struggled to a 1-5 start.
Quarterback Deshaun Watson, in the third season of his five-year contract with the Browns worth a guaranteed $230 million, is the league’s 28th-rated passer, although Coach Kevin Stefanski has been adamant in saying that he plans to stick with Watson as the team’s starter.
