Williams update on Albon after heavy practice crash.

Alex Albon will pass on the second meeting in front of the Australian Fantastic Prix following his FP1 crash.

Williams has confirmed that Alex Albon will not participate in the second practice session for the Australian Grand Prix, but that he is healthy.

Despite finishing 12th fastest in the first session at Albert Park, the Thai-Britain crashed out with a third of the 60 minutes remaining.

Albon ran wide through Turn six and, having reached as far down as possible on the leave kerb at Turn seven, was skewered into the boundary, harming the right half of his FW45.

However, such was his speed at influence that the Williams slid across the track and supported more harm on the left-hand side of the vehicle also. “Further to Alex’s accident in FP1, we can confirm that he will not participate in FP2 while we continue to assess the damage,” read a statement from Williams prior to FP2 in Melbourne. The incident did not result in injuries to Alex.
