Buffalo Bills continue to protect Josh Allen with massive offensive line long term contract signing

After signing left tackle Dion Dawkins to a three-year contract extension back in March, the Buffalo Bills front office continues to make it protecting Josh Allen a priority.
Right tackle Spencer Brown, a third round draft pick from the 2021 class, has become a stalwart on the offensive line, and he got rewarded for it with a 4-year, $72 million deal with $45 million guaranteed. It’s a massive number, but he’s earned it. Now Allen has his bookends in place for at least the next few years.
Brown’s new contract makes him the eighth-highest paid right tackle in the league, which seems like fair market value. It’s a good signing for Brown, it’s good news for Allen, and it’s good for the Bills. Everybody’s happy.
The news of Brown signing a new contract first came down last week before the Week 1 game, with numbers being reported today.
Greg Tompsett at Cover 1 on September 5 predicted that Brown’s extension would be a move that could be coming shortly, a day before it was announced that Brown would be getting a new contract.
In his first game of 2024, Brown looked great. He allowed no sacks, no hits, no hurries, no pressures of any kind. Anytime you don’t hear an offensive lineman’s name, he’s having a good day at the office.
Brown also showed up with some ferocious blocking on tape.
Side note: It’s not a hold if it’s not called.
Allen having Dawkins and Brown locked up for the foreseeable future is great news. Well deserved for the big man.
