Boston Celtics legend Bob Cousy thinks that Team USA boss Steve Kerr is against the Celtics and lets those feelings seep into his professional life.

There was a point of serious contention during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games as Kerr opted to bench Jayson Tatum for the two USA matches against Serbia en route to the gold medal.

Cousy was one of the many people who were very unhappy with this move, and he has gone as far as to claim it is due to Kerr’s hatred of the Celtics and anyone who plays for them.

“When Kerr did it last week, he was in no danger of losing the game, but in this case they got down by 17 points and he’s got to worry about losing the game,” Cousy told the Boston Globe.

“And then to not let Tatum get off the bench, to me, there’s got to be some kind of bias that he’s got against the Celtics.”

Tatum was the best player at the Celtics last season and they were the best team in the NBA, so you’d think that gets him into the lineup by default.

As far as Kerr is concerned though, he was not the best tactical fit for the job in hand in Paris.

The USA came close to being knocked out by Serbia and Draymond Green had something to say about it.
