At his peak, Tiger Woods looked like he could play forever on the PGA Tour.
Now 48 and dealing with the effects of multiple serious injuries, Woods seems eager to play on the senior men’s professional circuit. Returning to the 2021 Hero World Challenge, the 15-time major winner hinted he has just “four more years” until he can use a cart, an option given to Champions Tour players at most non-major events.
With less than 18 months until Tiger is eligible to play on the PGA Tour Champions, tour chairman Miller Brady is already laying the groundwork for Woods’ eventual debut. According to Golfweek, Brady recently reached out to Tiger’s agent, Mark Steinberg, asking him to “provide an update on the status of the tour.” Tiger, who is 48, will turn 50 on Dec. 30, 2025. There’s still a long way to go until that time, but Brady has already envisioned Woods’ “perfect” debut.
“In an ideal situation, Tiger turns 50 and the Mitsubishi Electric (in January 2026) will be his first start,” Brady said, via Golfweek. “Pair him with Fred Couples and you might have some fun.”
