Jack Main has been given a two-year ban from darts after being found guilty of match-fixing by the Darts Regulation Authority.
The 27-year-old was on the PDC tour from 2021-22 but dropped off and has since been competing in amateur darts, on the PDC Challenge Tour and Modus Super Series.
The DRA has found him guilty of fixing the outcome of a match against Lisa Ashton in June 2023 in the Modus Super Series, a game he lost 4-0.
He was suspended in November and has now been banned until 31 December 2025.
A DRA statement read: ‘On 11th December 2023 the DRA Disciplinary Committee heard the case against Jack Main where he was charged with fixing the outcome of his match with Lisa Ashton Ashton, played on 9th June 2023 in the Modus Super Series Event.
‘The Committee found that he was in breach of the DRA Betting Rules 2.1.2 and 2.1.3.’
On the punishment Main faces, the DRA announced: ‘Jack Main has been suspended from attending or competing in DRA governed events until 31st December 2025 and to pay £762.41 in costs.
‘He has the right to appeal the decision of the Disciplinary Committee.’
The DRA stated: ‘There is no suggestion that Lisa Ashton was involved in any way.’ (Picture: Getty Images)
There was a lot of excitement about the prospects of Main, who only took up darts at 20 years old after being forced to give up a football career due to a serious knee injury.
