The 32-year-old Italian pro — a four-time winner on the WTA Tour, who came up short to Serena Williams in the Wimbledon quarterfinals in 2018 — was listed on the International Tennis Integrity Agency’s (ITIA) retired players list on Tuesday.

The WTA has been unable to reach Giorgi or her family, and was unaware of her retirement, according to Corriere della Sera, an Italian newspaper.

Giorgi most recently competed at the Miami Open, where she was romped by world No. 1 Iga Swiatek in a second-round defeat.

She has a 3-5 record in competitions in 2024.

Giorgi raised eyebrows when she did not enter the French Open, which begins May 20 and goes through June 9.
