Breaking:Former Celtics MVP candidate signs G League contract with Utah Jazz

The former 2017 MVP candidate returned to the NBA after signing with the Utah Jazz’s G League affiliate.

Two-time All-Star Isiah Thomas returned to the NBA after signing with the Utah Jazz’s G League affiliate, the Salt Lake City Stars.

Thomas, 35, will be the last player in the NBA in 2022, with the guard appearing in 17 games with the Charlotte Hornets. The veteran averaged 8.3 points on 43.3 percent from the field and 39.7 percent from 3-point range in 12.9 minutes per game.

Prior to joining Charlotte, Thomas played multiple stints with the Dallas Mavericks and twice with the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets (including their G League affiliate Grand Rapids Gold).

He has also played for the Washington Wizards and New Orleans Pelicans since being traded from the Boston Celtics to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the summer of 2017 as part of Kyrie Irving’s blockbuster roster.

After averaging 24.7 points in multiple All-Star seasons with Boston and a notable top-5 MVP campaign in 2017 in which he averaged 28.9 points, 5.9 assists, 46.3 percent shooting, and 37.9 rebounds, Thomas has proven he’s capable of more.

He expressed his desire to have the opportunity to His effectiveness. There’s still a chance.

He was also the NBA’s leading fourth-quarter scorer in the 2016-17 season, establishing himself as one of the best final-quarter scorers of all time behind Kobe Bryant.

Thomas was traded to Cleveland by former Celtics general manager Danny Ainge, who was concerned that Thomas, who wanted to sign Irving, would suffer a serious hip injury.

Before parting ways with Ainge, Thomas was unhappy with his former director of basketball operations, whom he reunited with at Utah State.

The former MVP candidate hasn’t been the same since suffering a serious hip injury. Thomas has the ability to generate and receive certain profits in the free market.
