It’s hard to believe it’s already been three months since the Paris Olympics kicked off, right? That’s where we saw Simone Biles snag three golds and a silver! Now, she’s on the Gold Over America Tour, taking that Olympic excitement coast-to-coast with her teammates.
The tour has been on the road since early September, with the grand finale scheduled for Detroit on November 3.
But the question on everyone’s mind is, what happens when the tour ends? Will she finally get a chance to catch up with her husband, Jonathan Owens?
It won’t be easy! Jonathan, who plays for the Chicago Bears, is preparing for a big game against the Detroit Lions on November 28.
Between their post-Olympic commitments and the NFL season, the pair have struggled to stay in sync, and it’s unclear whether they’ll get the time off they deserve, or if their hectic schedules will mean they’ll have to juggle life on the road.
Simone Biles recently shared her thoughts on the matter on YouTube.
During a recent Click on Detroit interview titled “Simone Biles Heads Gold Over America Tour in Detroit,” the host was asked if she would attend the Lions vs.
Bears game on November 28 to support her husband, Jonathan Owens, who plays for the Bears. Biles’ response was thoughtful but vague: “I get that, it’s Thanksgiving,” she said.
“Usually some wives stay home because they fly out right after the game, so we’re usually back home waiting for them. Otherwise, we don’t know when we’re going to be able to come home and spend the holidays with them.”
Her answer illustrates the realities of her life as a professional athlete’s wife. While fans would like to see her on the stands that encouraged Jonathan, Bilz faces a subtle balance between the support of her husband’s career and the rare dominant moments together.
