Just In:(Critical doubt); Will Nelly Korda compete in the Toto Japan Classic 2024 after suffering a neck injury?

As the season draws to a close, fans are wondering when they will see world number one Nelly Korda again. She last graced the field at the Kroger Queen City Championship in September, where she secured a solid T5 finish.

Shortly after, the 26-year-old shared a video on Instagram showing off her practice swing for the upcoming Maybank Championship, leaving fans eagerly awaiting her return. But fate was not to be.

Just as the excitement was reaching its peak, Korda announced her withdrawal from the LPGA tournaments in Korea and Malaysia due to a minor neck injury.

Currently, Maybank’s championship is the rear view mirror, and the biggest question remains. Will Corda return to the tournament scene before the season ends?

The next main event on the horizon is TOTO JAPAN Classic, which will be held in Otsushi, Japan, from October 31, 2024 to November 3, 2024.

Big names in the female golf world, such as Ayaka Furue, Ryu Hye-rang and Ko Jin-young, will be competing in this tournament, but Korda’s name has once again been left off the list.

It seems that she needs more time to fully recover from her neck injury. So the clock for her return is ticking. Until then, the question of “when” is up in the air.

Since the announcement of her withdrawal from the Maybank championship, Nelly Korda has kept a low profile and we have not received any direct update from him.

However, we had an overview of her life thanks to her sister, Jessica Korda. Like Nelly, Jessica paused in sports due to his back injury.

Another reason for her interruption was a way to welcome a special person in February 2024. It’s been 17 months since Jessica last played a professional tournament.

Now that she’s ready to get back on the course, she’s reached out to Nelly. Jessica shared a touching video on Instagram, writing, “I haven’t hit a ball since May 2023. So I have an emergency FaceTime with Nelly Korda to talk about the basics and boom mommy’s still at work 💥.”

Although Nelly is taking a step back from competition, she hasn’t given up on golf completely. While supporting Jessica to get back on track, she stays connected to the sport.

And with some exciting LPGA tournaments still on the horizon, like the Lotte Championship, The Annika Driven by Gainbridge at Pelican, and the CME Group Tour Championship, we all hope to see Nellie back on the course soon.

Fans are holding out in hope that the next update will be about Nelly Korda’s return. If she fails to make it to Japan, the CME Group Tour Championship in early December could be an ideal target to give her enough time to rest and recover.

What do you think?
Will we see her return before the end of the season? Let us know in the comments!
