After 13 tournaments and visits to seven continents, LIV Golf crowned Jon Rahm the 2024 Individual Champion at Bolingbrook Golf Club in Chicago. It’s absolutely incredible that the Spaniard won the coveted title in his first year in a devastating championship.
As his teammates celebrated with champagne, Rahm was ecstatic. The two-time major champion admitted he was happy with it all and proud of his win. Even before his win at LIV Golf Chicago, Rahm made it clear he was happy at LIV Golf, and many insiders had suggested he wanted to return to the PGA Tour.
Thus, Tiger Woods’s ex-coach, Hank Haney, who has been an avid supporter of LIV, reposted the video and said, “It means something to @JonRahmOfficial” alluding to the alleged facts that winning on LIV might not be as big for Rahm as it was on the PGA Tour.
In this post, a golf enthusiast took a bizarre dig and sarcastically asked if it meant something for the 2023 Masters winner, “To win a 3-day exhibition?” And Haney was not holding back from giving the fitting reply to the LIV Golf critic.
When they doubt the legitimacy of the Golf Liv event, Heini attacked the legitimate part of PGA Tour and, in the same tone, replied: “Unlike a 4 -day exhibition?” To refine that even the PGA Tour events are an exhibition, and if the victory on the broken road does not mean something, and that should not mean something in the PGA Tour.
Since the creation of Liv Golf in 2022, the 68 -year -old coach has supported the Pif League and those who joined him after leaving the PGA Tour. Even recently, Haney called out the corrupt golf media and explained that no one tells you how easy it is to win on the PGA Tour.
And even hours before coming out to criticize LIV Golf, Haney responded to those who criticized Rahm for many things. Haney Refutes PGA Tour Insider’s Claim About Rahm’s LIV Golf Decision
In August, a veteran PGA Tour insider gave an interview to Golf Digest where he spoke about a variety of things, including Jon Rahm’s decision to join the breakaway club in 2023 for a reported $500 million.
The insider claimed that the Spaniard regrets his decision to join LIV Golf because he is no longer as relevant as he once was. He said:“I’m 100 percent confident that John will be able to pay the Saudis back and get back on tour; he couldn’t write a check fast enough.”
But Rahm reportedly debunked the speculation at the LIV Golf Greenbrier, clarifying that he had no regrets and saying: “They’re just making up shit. It’s the furthest thing from the truth.” So it became a quiet joke in the golf world, more for the LIV Golf faithful.
A pro golf commentator sarcastically wrote to X that even after Rahm celebrates his victory in Chicago, tour officials might say he’d rather play in the Procore Championship.
Haney responded by giving the example of a critic telling a Spaniard who said he wanted to defend his PGA Tour title that he couldn’t sit on two chairs. Haney said, “You know what they say, “can’t have your cake and eat it too” and “decisions have consequences”, $400m +, pretty nice cake and consequences.”
Time and again, it has been proven that Jon Rahm surely doesn’t regret his decision to play on LIV Golf, but even if there are some rumors in the golf world, the Spaniard can always count on Hank Haney to call it out
