August 7, 2024

In a new GRWM video that she shared on TikTok on Aug. 6, the gymnast, 27, thanked her supporters for sticking with her over the years.”I also just wanna give a quick shoutout to all of my supporters that have stuck with me since Rio, throughout Tokyo, and now supporting me throughout my journey here in Paris. It’s been unreal,” she said, referencing her previous to Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 2016 and Tokyo in 2020.Biles continued, “I’ve achieved more than my wildest dreams. I never thought I was going to be competing again, because that’s how terrified I was of gymnastics and twisting, so there was a lot of trauma there, so I’ve had to put in a lot of work, but shout out to my therapist and shout out to therapy.” Simone Biles Celebrates the End of Paris Olympics Journey with Fresh New Hairstyle: ‘Gold Medal Stylist’During the video, Biles put on what she considered to be light makeup, because she was “first reserve” on uneven bars during the medal competition. As she explained in the TikTok, she was the ninth gymnast in the ranking, and only the first eight compete to win a medal. If one of them had been unable to compete, she would have been eligible, thus, she needed to be competition-ready. As it turned out, she didn’t go on, but her face was fresh and ready to go!The next day, she would take part in her final two events, balance beam and floor exercise.”I will be doing beam and floor, which, so excited about … never doing a floor routine again, so, just hits different,” she said in the TikTok. She would go on to win the silver medal in floor exercise, behind Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade who won gold. Biles’ teammate Jordan Chiles (who also made a cute cameo in the TikTok) took bronze.Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE’s free daily newsletter to stay up to date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from juicy celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.Gold medalist Rebeca Andrade (C) of Team Brazil, silver medalist Simone Biles (L) of Team United States and bronze medalist Jordan Chiles (R) of Team United States celebrate on the podium at the Artistic Gymnastics Women’s Floor Exercise Medal Ceremony on day ten of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 Simone Biles, Rebeca Andrade and Jordan Chiles on the medal podium in Paris.
