The biggest storyline heading into Saturday night’s matchup between the WNBA All-Star Team and Team USA is Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese suiting up as teammates for the first time ever.
Clark and Reese have been rivals dating back to their high school AAU days, but now the two rising WNBA superstars will finally take the court as All-Star teammates.
Clark was asked about this upcoming collaboration during her appearance on the WNBA’s Orange Carpet on Thursday night.
Clark said she expects Reese to lead the game in rebounds.
“I’m pretty excited,” Clark said. “… It’s obviously rare to have two rookies in the All-Star Game… The fans are super excited about it. It’s just really good for the W. Obviously she’s having an incredible year. It’s going to be really fun.
“She’s certainly, probably going to lead the game in rebounds. I expect that out of her. That’s just what she does.”
Reese held the league lead in rebounds per game for much of the 2024 season before she was recently overtaken by MVP frontrunner A’ja Wilson. The Chicago Sky rookie is averaging 11.9 rebounds per game — in large part due to her record-breaking streak of consecutive double-doubles.

Clark, Reese and the rest of the WNBA All-Stars will tipoff against Team USA at 8:30 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
