The Summerland Tuesday Ladies League’s is putting $500 from their last tournament to Summerland Royal Canadian Legion #22.
The league’s captain, Marie Gallant, and co-captains Janis Goll and Christine Haessig presented the cheque to the branch’s president John Lawrie on June 25.
The funds were the proceeds from the raffle held at the Ladies Four Ball golf tournament, held annually in September.
After the tournament wraps up, the proceeds are shared to causes such as the Summerland Food Bank or the South Okanagan Women in Need Society.
Around 130 golfers in 34 teams from Sicamous to Osoyoos came to participate in the tournament.
The raffle features items donated from local Penticton and Summerland businesses.
The choice of the Legion as a recipient for the funds was driven by the roof and flooding issues the Legion was forced to deal with in 2023.
Brennan was raised in the Okanagan and is thankful every day that he gets to live and work in one of the most beautiful places in Canada.
