Padraig Harrington reports that Tiger Woods has discussed the possibility of quitting the PGA Tour.

Woods, 48, has remained loyal to the PGA after turning down an offer to join the independent LIV Golf Tour, but more changes could be on the way. He is 18 months from his 50th anniversary, which will allow him to have the right to the champions of the PGA Tour.

Previously, the PGA Tour senior, the organization openly planned the arrival of Woods and, according to The Visible, is ready to change the age limit only in order to introduce wood in the warehouse earlier. When asked by PGA golf champion Steve Stricker about the possibility of participating, Woods responded, “I want to follow in the footsteps of Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Bernhard Langer (by participating at age 50).”

The PGA Tournament of Champions also allows players to use carts to get around the course, increasing Woods’ chances of success. Despite Woods’ previous protests, Harrington hinted he’s excited about the golf legend leaving the PGA Tour.

“He’s hoping to win a Grand Slam and put another senior major on his CV,” Harrington told Golfweek. “I saw him on the track (at the PNC Championship in December), we passed each other and he was messing with me. I can’t tell you exactly what he said, but basically he can’t wait to go beat me.”

During his illustrious career, Woods has won 15 major titles, most recently at the 2019 Masters, which put him second all-time behind Jack Nicklaus (18). This year, Woods finished 60th at the Masters and recently missed out on qualifying for the PGA Championship and U.S. Open.

Advancing to the PGA Tour Champions would give Woods a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win a Grand Slam. The 48-year-old has won the U.S. Junior Open, U.S. Amateur and U.S. Open three times, and could add the U.S. Senior Open to that list.
