New videos of Scottie Scheffler’s controversial arrest by the Louisville Police ahead of the second round of the 2024 PGA Championship have emerged online. The police released footage showing the golfer being detained at the front gates of Valhalla Golf Course and taken to the police station.During the journey, Scheffler and the arresting officer engaged in a casual conversation about the golfer’s career, as well as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. Sports journalist Bryan Armen Graham from The Guardian shared fresh body cam clips of the arrest on his X (formerly Twitter) account. The video shows Scheffler chatting with the officer, who seemed unaware that Scheffler is the number one golfer in the world. The officer was surprised to learn that Scheffler plays on the PGA Tour and quickly said, “So I assume you’re pretty good if you’re playing in the PGA,” before asking, “Is Tiger as good as they say he is?””He is pretty good,” replied Scheffler. The officer then inquired about Scheffler’s golfing journey and was again impressed to learn that he is 27 years old and still playing on the PGA Tour.”You’re 27 and you’re freaking playing in the PGA!” exclaimed the officer.Scottie Scheffler went on to share an intriguing story about the time Rory McIlroy needed a police escort at the 2012 Ryder Cup. The Northern Irish golfer had overslept and got late for the tee time. To help him get to the golf course on time, the Lombard Police Department escorted him to the venue. Scheffler shared this story with the officer, “Rory, who was the best player in the world at that time, slept through his alarms. He was going to miss his tee time, and they gave him a car police escort.”The story amazed the officer and chuckled, “My goodness.”He even called Scottie Scheffler “too casual to be the number one player in the world” and suggested he should have a driver.LMPD releases pictures of Scottie Scheffler’s arrestThe Louisville Metro Police Department has released pictures of Scottie Scheffler’s arrest, including images of the injuries sustained by the police officer while stopping the golfer.
