Tiger Woods wants to play The Open next year.
Tiger Woods addressed the world media on Tuesday for the first time since his horrific car crash earlier this year.
Tiger Woods has indicated that his main goal for next year as he begins to slowly make his comeback from the horrific car crash back in February will be to compete at The Open 2022. The 15-time major champion sent social media crazy last week with a brief clip of him hitting some balls on the driving range being watched by millions.

And Woods gave his first interview on Monday since his car crash earlier this year, stating that he only expects to play a handful of events a year from now.
He spoke of accepting his “unfortunate reality” while going into some detail on the amount of rehabilitation he still has to go through.
Now Woods appears to be in a position where he can look ahead and is in attendance at the Hero World Challenge event, which he hosts every year.
Speaking to the world media in his first press conference since the car crash, Woods spent nearly 40 minutes taking questions.
Tiger Woods’ first event could be at the PNC Championship.
When asked to give more details on the crash, Woods was reserved in giving a response.
But, while Woods reiterated how he doesn’t plan to return on a full-time basis, there was a glint in his eye when looking forward to the majors.
“To ramp up for a few events a year,” Wood said. “There’s no reason why I can’t do it.
“Mr [Ben] Hogan did it. I just gotta get to a point where I feel comfortable I can do it.

“It’s flattering that people think that highly of my game.
He added: “I have a long way to go in the rehab process. I enjoy the challenge.”
“Maybe one day it will be good enough to compete against the best players in the world again.”
And Woods went on to make it clear what his big plan for next year will be with The Open being held at the prestigious St Andrews course.
“I would love to play at St Andrews. There’s no doubt about it. My favourite golf course in the world.”
