Area Boys Golf Teams Compete at Districts Today

Several area teams will compete at boys golf district tournaments today. Broken Bow will be among the teams competing today at the C-5 district meet at Lakeside Country Club at Johnson Lake. Joining them in the meet today will be Alma, Amherst, Bridgeport, Chadron, Chase County, Gordon-Rushville, Gothenburg, Hershey, Hi-Line, Kearney Catholic, Mitchell, Morrill, Perkins County and Valentine.

Anselmo-Merna, Burwell, South Loup, Sandhills Valley, and Sandhills/Thedford will be among the teams competing in the D-3 district tournament at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course. Teams joining them today will be Ainsworth, Boyd County, CWC, Central Valley, Elgin Public/Pope John, Neligh-Oakdale, Niobrara/Verdigre, North Central, Riverside, and Stuart.

Mullen will compete in the D-5 district tournament at Rivers Edge Golf Course in North Platte. Joining the Broncos today will be Bayard, Crawford, Creek Valley, Garden County, Hay Springs, Hemingford, Hyannis, Kimball, Leyton, North Platte St. Pat’s, Paxton, Potter-Dix, South Platte, and Sutherland.

The first three teams and the first ten individual places plus ties in each district will qualify for the NSAA Championship,
using medal play. The NSAA boys state golf championships will take place May 21st and May 22nd. The Class C state tournament will take place at Elks Country Club in Columbus and the Class D state tournament will take place at Lake Maloney Golf Club in North Platte.
