Tiger Woods’ former longtime caddie Steve Speaking on the Chasing Majors podcast with Australian Golf Digest writer Evin Priest, Williams revealed one thing his former boss didn’t do after a PGA Tour tournament .
Williams, now 60, played with Woods for 13 years on the PGA Tour, helping him win a combined 13 majors and 72 championships before their relationship ended in 2011.
Although money was never a necessity for Woods. It is interesting to note that during his PGA Tour career, the 15-time champion never once looked at the prize money in the scorer’s hut after playing 72 holes – something almost every player would do before packing their bags.
“One one of the things I admire most about Tiger – I admired a lot of things about him – but one thing I really liked about Tiger is that after the tournament, you come to the scorer’s booth and you sign your score card and delivers it,” Williams said in the podcast episode.
“And they always have a page with the prize money. For everyone, so you can look up the screen to see how you finished and down to see how much you won. Tiger never looked at it.
” He played for to win awards and set records, not for prize money.“
Williams has an estimated net worth of $20 million.
