As Camila Giorgi geared up for her National Bank Open first round game against Bianca Andreescu, she left the Montreal spectators stunned with awe. The Italian tennis player displayed remarkable finesse and strength during the match as she secured victory over her opponent in two straight sets. This triumph is not new to Giorgi who had previously clinched a championship title at the Canadian Open just two years ago.
Camila’s alluring outfit with its captivating curves has mesmerized everyone in the stadium. The photograph features an Italian tennis player standing behind a sign of the young Spanish Carlos Alcarez, who appears to be deeply fascinated by Camila’s attire from his viewpoint.
The Toronto crowd earns praise from Camila: “I feel at ease when I’m here.”
During the first round of the National Bank Open in Montreal, Camila showcased an exceptional performance.
Following the triumphs in both qualifying rounds versus Kalieva and Krueger, the Italian tennis player secured a compelling win over Bianca Andreescu with a tally of 6-3 and 6-2. This victory could potentially boost morale for our Italian athlete as they faced an opponent who was performing well at that time.
During the press conference, Camila discussed her performance and shared her immense fondness for this tournament – the only Master 1000 title she’s ever won. As for Giorgi, she reflected on her progress thus far in the competition as she has already participated in three matches.
In her explanation, she stated that the match was great. The opponents from prior rounds were both performing impressively, and the caliber of play was exceptionally high. Although the first two matches had been remarkable already, she believed that today’s game surpassed them – feeling more comfortable on court allowed for better movement and performance overall.
“I have a strong point, so it’s very positive,” said the former Italian number one. She also shared her excitement about playing in Canada: “It’s fabulous to be here. The surface is comfortable for me and my game style. I’ve played three excellent matches here and look forward to continuing that success.” Giorgi added that she wasn’t affected by the crowd cheering for her opponent as both players experienced similar support from the audience.
“I always feel comfortable with the fantastic and well-behaved crowd, but I must admit that winning points elicited a different reaction – applause. Now, in the second round of this tournament, my opponent will be Petra Kvitova from Czech Republic who is an expert tennis player and previously claimed victory at the Montreal championships back in 2012.”
